On Saturday, January 21, 2012, around one hundred people gathered on the Arms of Hope – Boles Campus to celebrate the ribbon cutting & dedication ceremony for the Hope Haven Family Living Homes. The structure was primarily funded by special friends of Arms of Hope, Dale & Amy Harbison, J.C. Hall, Garry & Debbie Hawes and Danny & Vicki Looney. Arms of Hope residents will begin populating these residences in February 2012. The Hope Haven Family Living Homes consists of four apartments that will be occupied by single-mother families who are active participants in the Arms of Hope Together Program. The Together Program helps motivated single mothers and their children transition into successful, independent futures by providing parenting skills, career training and a home in a peaceful and safe environment. Families in this program are fleeing homelessness, poverty, hunger and abuse. In addition to the honorees, Dale and Amy Harbison, J.C. (Corky) Hall, Garry and Debbie Hawes and Danny and Vicki Looney, several board members were in attendance along with Kevin McDonald, AOH President and CEO, and Arms of Hope campus directors, Joe Brazell and Candace Cain. Arms of Hope was blessed to obtain a discounted rate from Traylor Furniture in Terrell to furnish one three bedroom apartment. Traylor has agreed to offer a discounted rate of $2,800 per apartment for supporters who wish to furnish the remaining units.
